It’s been 2 weeks since I last published an arrangement! As much as I’ve wanted to work on some more this past fortnight, I’ve had other things I’ve needed to focus on.
However, thumbing through a book I’d not opened in a few years, but took with me to my theatre organ practise session along with some other old music I’d pulled out to see if I could find some suitable new song options, I found that I’d started scribbling some arrangement ideas on some of the pieces during an earlier practise session.
One of those was John Denver’s “Annie’s Song”, which was arranged with a waltz-style accompaniment. I’ve completely changed up the accompaniment to something lighter, adjusted some chord choices, added phrasing and the three verses of lyrics, and gone through 4 iterations of playing and tweaking to arrive at a single page arrangement that I’m happy with.
I’ve now published it, and am waiting for it to be listed on Sheet Music Direct and Sheet Music Plus. I’m also looking forward to debuting it at this weekend’s theatre organ member’s day!
