West Australian musician Simone Collins has been arranging and composing music since she was 10 years old.
A benefit of sitting Yamaha electronic organ (electone) exams was the need to write arrangements from a young age. As well as completing arrangements for exams, Simone arranged high level pieces to perform at the annual Yamaha Electone Festival, often winning her section with her own arrangements. Her arrangement of “The Holy City” for organ at the age of 10 years old saw her go through to the State Finals, at that point the youngest person to do in Western Australia. That arrangement remains her best seller to date.
Simone also arranges piano music for her daughter Ariana and her music students, as well as for keyboard / synth parts for performing at monthly Park Jam sessions.
